The 11th European Youth Bridge Pairs Championship will be held at
Vingsted Hotel
Vejle, Denmark
1st to 6th July 2012
with the following

programme:

♠ Final Sessions 10.00 - Friday 6th July

♠ President Cup 10.00 - Friday 6th July

· Closing Ceremony & Prize Giving 20.00 - Friday 6th July

Format of the Championships

There will be a new competition Mixed Pairs and three series in the Youth Championship: Junior Open, Junior Girls and Youngster. Mixed Pairs and all three series are for National Pairs (i.e. both
players must come from the same NBO - transnational pairs are not permitted). 

Mixed Pairs:

at the end of the seven qualification rounds of 10 boards the 16 highest-ranked pairs will qualify for the Final which will be played using Barometer scoring and screens will be used.

Youth:

In all the three series five qualification rounds of 10 boards will be played. At the end of the qualification rounds, in all the series, the leading 50% of the field will qualify for Semi-final A and the other 50% for Semi-final B. Both semi-finals will consist of five qualification rounds of 10 boards. At the end of the semi-finals the highest-ranked pairs from semi-final A (25 in the Junior Open and 16 in the Junior Girls & Youngster subject to participation) and the highest ranked pairs from the semi-final B (5 in the Junior Open and 4 in the Junior Girls & Youngster subject to participation) will qualify for the Final in which all series will be played using Barometer scoring and screens will be used.

Starting this year, the other pairs will play in a transnational and trans-age event for the “President Cup”.

Right of entry

Bridge players (registered members of EBL NBOs), in good standing with their Federation and born on 1st January 1987 or later (Junior Open & Girls) and on 1st January 1992 or later
(Youngster) are entitled to participate. There will be no restrictions on numbers of entries per NBO.

Mixed pairs: all mixed pairs are playing together but at the end of the competition the top 3 junior pairs and the 3 top youngsters pairs will be awarded with EBL medals.

Each member NBO, being up to date with the payment of its dues (including the 2012 dues) to the EBL is authorized to enter pairs. Countries must have paid the entry fee and be up to date with the payment of the dues to the EBL before they can participate in the Championship.

In any case participants must be nominated by their NBO and all such nominations are subject to authorisation by the EBL Credentials Committee.

Registration of Pairs

The registrations of pairs for all the series must be made by the Federation. All entries to the Championships tournaments must be submitted electronically, via the EBL website (not by
email) at http://www.eurobridge.org/competitions/12Vejle/Information.htm from 15th April 2012 until 15th May 2012 the latest, (deadline to be respected imperatively).

Entry Fees

The entry fees are 100€ per pair for Mixed Pairs and 150€ per pair for Juniors, Girls and Youngsters Pairs. No entry fees for the President Cup.

Dress Code

Everyone entering the playing rooms is obliged to wear the official identification badge provided by the organization. In case of loss the organization will provide a duplicate badge at the cost of 5,00 €.

All players, captains and coaches are required to wear T-shirts, polo shirts, shirts or blouses containing their Federation’s logo. If sweaters, cardigans and sweatshirts are used they must carry
the Federation’s logo. All players are expected to be respectably dressed and are also required to follow the instructions given by the TDs.

Any person not respecting the dress code into the playing area will receive a warning on the first occasion and a subsequent breach will result in that that person being prohibited from entering the
playing area.
